Overview
Cybernaptics, a leader in the IT industry, with a footprint in Mauritius, Madagascar and Kenya. We provide IT Managed Services, Cloud Infrastructure, Software Integration Services and Business Solutions. We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure and Cloud Architect to join our team of support Engineers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both on premise and cloud computing, infrastructure design, and security best practices, with proven experience in optimizing cloud environments for high availability and performance.
Responsibilities
- Private and Public Cloud Management: Manage the company’s private and public cloud infrastructure according to best practice.
- Infrastructure Design and Optimization: Design, configure, and optimize cloud infrastructure for scalability, reliability, and security. Ensure efficient management of resources and cost-effectiveness.
- Security and Compliance: Enhance security postures by implementing best practices, ensuring data protection, and maintaining compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations.
- Monitoring and Maintenance: Establish proactive monitoring and maintenance protocols to anticipate and prevent issues, ensuring high availability and performance of cloud services.
- Disaster Recovery and Backup: Develop and maintain robust disaster recovery plans, including regular testing and updates to backup procedures to ensure data integrity and availability.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with IT staff and customers to align cloud infrastructure development with organizational goals and priorities.
- Vendor Management: Manage relationships with cloud service providers and other technology vendors, negotiating contracts, and ensuring service levels meet business needs.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of the latest cloud technologies and infrastructure trends, recommending and implementing improvements to maintain competitive advantage.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Professional certifications in cloud computing (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert) are highly desirable.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in cloud infrastructure design, deployment, and management, with a proven track record of implementing large-scale cloud solutions.
- Strong understanding of cloud security principles, data protection laws, and compliance frameworks.
- Expertise in networking, virtualization, and containerization technologies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to lead projects and work collaboratively with diverse teams.
Reporting
This job will report directly to the country lead of Cybernaptics Kenya with a functional (dotted line) reporting to the Operations Manager in Mauritius.
